Warzone 2 Christmas Event 2022: Will Festive Fervor Return?

As the festive season approaches, fans are wondering what Activision has planned for their annual Christmas event content. Last year we saw the arrival of Krampus to Warzone and Vanguard multiplayer, and though this year we don't have any confirmation as to what's on the way, we do have some speculations and details to share.

Below we will be walking you through everything you can expect from the 2022 Call of Duty Warzone Christmas event. We'll cover the possible start date for the event and of course, discuss what we can expect to see during this year's first-person festivities.

December 12 - Call of Duty Confirmed Christmas Content...

The holiday season is fast approaching, and now Activision has confirmed what they're planning for their festive updates in Call of Duty and Warzone 2.0.

For starters, Shipment returns with Season 1 Reloaded on December 14 and this will be followed by a 'Holiday overhaul' of Shipment which arrives on December 21. As you might imagine, the overhaul will decorate the map with decorations, lights and more to ensure a festive look until the new year, with decorations coming down on January 4, 2023.

Though not explicitly mentioned, it appears as though Krampus won't return, with the dev blog writing: "Those on the naughty list won’t have to fret over any mythological creatures during this holiday season; the only threats here are your fellow Operators looking to get Camos that shine brighter than tinsel."

Beyond this players can also look forward to a new operator bundle in the store for Klaus Fisker, adorned with jolly Santa hat.

Does Warzone 2 Christmas Event Have A Release Date?

Based on last year's Call of Duty Warzone's Christmas event, called the Festive Fervor event, we can assume that this year's Christmas event will run from the 14th December until the 25th December.

It should be stated that we don't have an official start and end date window from Activision, so take this date as speculation until we get word from the devs.

It's also worth noting that in the big Season 1 roadmap for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, no Christmas celebrations were mentioned. So who knows, they could skip the festivities entirely.

What To Expect From A Call of Duty Warzone Christmas Event

Similar to last year's Festive Fervor event, this year's Warzone Christmas event will likely feature some unique events that players can complete to claim some limited-time rewards. For instance, last year introduced the Festive Fir trees that when found on the map, would spawn several supply boxes that could contain Legendary items for that match, limited-time rewards, or even just some coal.

In addition, there is likely to also be a festive-themed bot that spawns on the map and hunts players down. Last year we saw Krampus spawn and hunt down players at random or those who received coal. While we don't know which character might appear this year, we'll likely see some twist on this event this year and for the teams that defeat this new bot, you will likely gain some unique bonuses.

Last but not least, there will more than likely be some unique challenges in this year's Christmas event, such as dealing damage to the festive-themed bot, destroying certain objects on the map, or simply playing the game and roaming the multiplayer maps. Rewards for this can range from Double XP Tokens or Calling Cards to Battle Pass Tier Skips and weapon blueprints.

So be sure to check back here soon for a more detailed breakdown as we get closer and closer to this year's Warzone Christmas event.
