On the surface, Destiny 2 may seem like just another fun and flashy FPS (which it is), but in reality, there are a plethora of additional underlying gameplay mechanics that come together to make this a unique genre-defining experience.

Unfortunately, the game does a poor job of explaining some of its most important elements. One such crucial gameplay mechanic in Destiny 2 is Charged with Light. Here's everything you need to know about it.

What Does Charged With Light in Destiny 2 Mean?

Simply put, Charged with Light in Destiny 2 is a way to gain some unique buffs. These include increased weapon damage, increased damage resistance, and more. For these to happen, you must equip Charged with Light armor mods.

However, just equipping a mod that generates Charged With Light isn't enough. You must also equip a different type of Charged with Light mod to use that generated Charged With Light energy. Makes sense? Perhaps not.

Charged With Light Mods in Destiny 2 Explained

There are three different types of Charged with Light mods in Destiny 2. Each one of them is important and is co-dependent on the other. For one to work, you must also have the other equipped. They are: 

• Green Mods: These mods provide stacks of Charged With Light
• Yellow Mods: These mods use stacks of Charged With Light to provide buffs
• White Mods: These add additional stacks of Charged With Light or provide your allies with Charged With Light

And that's pretty much it! You will need to equip one of the many green Charged With Light mods to generate stacks. Then, if you have any of the yellow Charged with Light mods equipped, you will get the necessary buff. 
Additionally, equipping any of the white Charged With Light mods will either increase your Charged With Light stack or give your allies the buff as well. You can purchase Charged With Light mods from Ada-1 in the Tower.
