How Long Does Destiny 2 Maintenance Last Today?

Note - Bungie has extended maintenance of Destiny 2 due to a deployment issue. 

"We will provide a timeline for bringing the game back online as soon as that information becomes available. An update will be provided within 1 hour."

Original Story Follows - Destiny 2 is a massive online experience, and occasionally, Bungie takes it offline to undergo maintenance or update the game. Usually, these happen before weekly resets on Tuesdays, but sometimes Bungie deploys emergency maintenance to fix some ongoing technical issues; and every so often, Destiny services may be brought offline to undergo scheduled maintenance for the launch of a brand new expansion or Season.

On 12 March 2024, Bungie will launch a new update for Destiny 2 Season 23. That means Destiny 2 servers will be taken offline for a major new patch. So here's everything you need to know about when the maintenance will end and how long you'll be booted from the game.

Is Destiny 2 Undergoing Maintenance

If you're reading this, chances are the answer to your question is a big fat yes.

Bungie will periodically bring the game offline for updates and hotfix maintenance.

How Long Will Destiny 2 Be Down For Maintenance

According to Bungie, Destiny 2 server maintenance will begin on 12 March 2024 at 6 am PST (1 pm GMT) and last 6 hours.

At 6:45 am PST the game will be brought offline and players will be removed from in-game activities until 10:00 am PST.

At this point, a new Destiny 2 Update should be available to download on all platforms.

Do note that players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance will continue until 12 pm PST (7 pm GMT).
