OG announce new Dota 2 team OG Seed

OG has announced they’ve formed a second Dota 2 team in a bid to help build new players: OG Seed.
OG announce new Dota 2 team OG Seed

Earlier this year, OG became the first back-to-back champions of The International tournament, bagging the biggest prize esports has ever seen at $15,603,133 (£12.1 million).

Following their historic win, OG has announced their second Dota 2 team titled OG Seed, comprised of young players from Godsent, compLexity Gaming, and Pelaajat.com.

The idea is to spread their knowledge accumulated over the years to up and coming players, with OG describing the new roster as a side who "we strongly believe in but that haven't yet reached the achievements they feel they can reach".

So who’s on the team? After recently leaving Ad Finem, Omar “Madara” Dabachach is on the Seed roster, alongside former Godsent players Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin and Andreas “Xibbe” Ragnemalm.

Zakari â€œZfreek” Freedman also joins the roster from compLexity Gaming, alongside Peetu-Elmeri â€œPeksu” Vaatainen from Pelaajat.com.

Johan “N0tail” Sundstein from OG’s original team will be acting as coach for Seed. N0tail is captain of OG's original team and is widely regarded as one of the best Dota 2 players in the world. The announcement follows a trailer OG released teasing a new role for N0tail.

It’s important to note this won’t affect the main Dota 2 team, comprised of N0tail, Anathan “ana” Pham, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, Sebastien “Ceb” Debs and Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka, in any substantial way.

The main OG team however won't be entering the second Major to invest efforts into building OG Seed. N0tail and the boys will be back for the third Major of the DPC season later in 2020.

OG Seed will be making their debut on Thursday 28 November in the European Open Qualifiers.

Speaking about the announcement, Ceb said: "This OG Seed journey comes with great expectations for us at OG. Being able to go back in time, alongside up and coming players, is simply amazing. I know this is going to be a win-win situation for everyone involved.

"We will share experience, maturity and knowledge, while they will feed us with their immense motivation, their drive and passion. We intend to give them the best we can offer and help them achieve their dreams just like we achieved ours. Hopefully you'll enjoy the ride as much as we will."
