The recent Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC trailer has sparked excitement across the internet, with numerous fans eager to embark on new adventures in The Lands Between. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that enthusiasts should savor this experience because, according to a recent interview, Elden Ring is not slated to receive additional DLCs or a sequel any time soon, if at all.

The recent trailer for the Elden Ring Shadow Of the Erdtree DLC has generated significant excitement ahead of its release. However, indications suggest that this upcoming DLC might mark the end of additional content for the series, at least for the foreseeable future, with no plans for a sequel. In an interview with IGN Japan, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director and president of FromSoftware, clarified that the company currently has no intentions for a sequel or any further DLC projects.

Despite Elden Ring gaining immense popularity and introducing the souls-borne series to a broader audience, Miyazaki emphasized that FromSoftware will take "a big break" after the launch of Shadow of the Erdtree as explained in the translation. While this doesn't rule out the possibility of Elden Ring returning eventually, it does imply that FromSoftware won't be revisiting the Lands Between soon.

While this news may disappoint fans, it aligns with FromSoftware's previous development patterns, such as taking breaks between Souls entries to create titles like Bloodborne and Sekiro. It appears that the company is inclined towards exploring new intellectual properties and may consider returning to Elden Ring at a later date.
