M80 has welcomed a new member to its ownership group: Daniil Medvedev, the world's No. 3 ranked professional tennis player. Medvedev, who is also an avid gamer, will bring his passion for gaming and his world-class experience with sports psychology to M80, where he will advise the organization on esports endeavors and integrate his expertise across M80's teams.

Medvedev, who won the 2021 U.S. Open and spent 16 weeks as the No. 1 player in the world in 2022, said that joining M80 gives him the opportunity to blend his experience and contribute to the growth of one of the world's most exciting esports brands.

"Just as in tennis, success in esports demands mental resilience and dedication. Marco and the team have created one of the world's most exciting esports brands, and I'm looking forward to contributing to the company's growth and giving fans more ways to engage with M80," Medvedev said.

Medvedev is no stranger to the esports scene, as he is regularly seen on the Rainbow Six: Siege ranked ladder. He has been part of the game's Ambassador program since August 2023 and is ranked amongst the top 2.9 percent of Rainbow Six gamers worldwide.

At M80, he will lean on his experience to help shape M80's world championship-caliber Rainbow Six: Siege roster and the organization's other esports rosters, such as Counter-Strike and Valorant. He will also incorporate traditional sports psychology to give teams an edge.

Marco Mereu, CEO and Co-Founder of M80, said that Medvedev joining M80 supercharges the organization's vision of building world-class esports teams and creating engaging content for fans.

"Daniil is a leader on the court and in game and brings his competitive drive and commitment to excellence that will be the bedrock for our current and future programs," Mereu said.
