Fortnite v12.20 patch notes: helicopters, Operation Knockout LTM, updated Oil Rig, Arena changes, Locker Loadouts

Fortnite v12.20 is now live on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, PC and Mobile platforms and we are still very much in the grips of the spy theme of Chapter 2 Season 2. 

There is a whole host of changes in this update including a new vehicle, the helicopter, a brand new "Spy Games" LTM, an updated map and various changes to the competitive ranked mode - Arena.

New Helicopter - the "Choppa"

The big change in this update is the addition of the much-rumoured helicopters! Or "Choppa!" as Arnie would say.

The chopper will allow four players to travel in and according to @FortniteBRLive it will not be available in Arena.

It has also been reported that you can't dive out of these so make sure you land safely!

We also have a prior leak detailing the stats of the Helicopter. As well as having 1500HP it is expected that you can boost into players and structures - destroying builds and eliminating opponents.

Operation Knockout LTM

Compete to earn Intel in a 4-round squad battle! The squad with the most elims at the end of the round moves on. The squad that wins the 4th round wins the match and earns the most Intel, unlocking new Tech to use in this and other "Operation" modes.

Players will unlock perks through a Tech system, these perks willl help give them the upper hand against their opponents, you will also be able to test out some new Gadgets as well.

There will be three special Operation Knockout LTM challenges, with 80,000XP up for grabs for completing each of these tasks.

Locker Loadout

The locker load-outs are now in the game. This new feature will allow you to save your favourite presets of your characters look.

So no longer will you have to change each item to get your ideal look.

New Map

Not a new map per se, but an updated POI.

The home of TNTina - Oil Rig - seems to have had an accident and is leaking what appears to be oil all over the South West portion of the map. Maybe TNTina got a little clumsy with the explosives she likes to carry around.

There is also a change at Pleasant Park, where the secret base under the soccer pitch has been uncovered allowing you to jump down into it.

General

• Vault Banner is missing from Locker.

Battle Royale

• End of match: unable to return to Lobby, go to Item Shop, or report player. (PLEASE READ UPDATE.)
• Player markers placed too far away.
• Stuck inside Porta Potty.
• Buildings and structures may appear low detail.
• Unable to resume Auto-Sprint on PlayStation 4.
• Unable to place trap if trap icon hasn't finished loading.

Creative

• Rails on the Yacht Prefab are displaced when placing the Prefab.
• Save the World
• B.A.S.E isn't properly being impacted by perks.
• Love lobbers poison cloud can sometimes cause semi-permanent damage.
• Banner Gadgets disappear earlier than intended.
• Retrieve the Data missions sometimes can't be started properly after the balloon has spawned.
