Honkai: Star Rail is the new upcoming space fantasy RPG by HoYoverse, the developer of Genshin Impact. The game is currently under final closed beta testing and will soon launch globally. While the release date of the title is unknown, you can pre-register for it to earn some exclusive rewards.

The answer is no Honkai: Star Rail is not an open-world game, even though it features large maps and tons of locations that you can explore as you wish while solving puzzles, uncovering immersive storylines, playing mini-games, and more.

Instead, to go into a new area, you will have to load, and the game's description says that Honkai: Star Rail has "elements of open-world and dungeon exploration," however, the focus is on turn-based strategic combat.
