Are you unsure if your mobile phone (Android or iOS) meets the device requirements to run Monster Hunter Now? Capcom and Niantic's augmented-reality monster-hunting experience does, after all, look incredibly detailed with fast-paced combat.

Don't worry, prospective hunters, we've got you covered with the minimum Monster Hunter Now device requirements!

First and foremost, you can only play Monster Hunter Now on devices that are "Play Protect certified."

With that warning out of the way, let's take a look at the device requirements for Monster Hunter Now on Android.

  • Android 7 or higher, 64-bit
  • CPU: Snapdragon 855 or higher
  • RAM: 3GB or higher
  • Resolution 720x1280 pixels (not optimized for tablets)
  • Network environment (Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G)
  • GPS, Location Based Services

That's a bit hefty and certainly requires more mobile horsepower than Pokemon GO, which makes sense since the game looks like a next-level mobile experience. The developers also provided a warning about performance even if you meet the minimum CPU requirement of a Snapdragon 855, stating:

However, when using a device equipped with Snapdragon 855 or equivalent CPU performance, there may be potential lag due to CPU limitations. If it causes gameplay issues even at the low Graphics Quality Settings, please consider playing on a different device.

As an additional note, rooted devices are not supported.

  • iPhone 8 and above
  • iOS 14 or higher
  • Network environment (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
  • GPS, location-based services

The developers also recommend at least 3 GB of RAM for "optimal performance." Jailbreak devices are not supported!

Lastly, Niantic provided a warning:

Even if you are able to launch the Monster Hunter Now from other devices as the one above, we cannot support you in case of technical problems.
