If you're coming into NHL 24 having played in previous years, you probably remember the Lacrosse Deke or The Michigan being one of the most frustrating to pull off. Using the old Skill Stick controls, it requires near-perfect timing with both sticks and multiple button presses to even get the animation to trigger.

Fortunately, Total Control in NHL 24 means you'll only have to press Y or Triangle to go for a Lacrosse Deke this year. Try the motion out in free skate practice to get a feel for how the animation is executed for both left-handed and right-handed players.

If you want to get used to hitting it in action, team practice or HUT Rush in Hockey Ultimate Team are great low risk ways to test this move out. If you instead wanna trip a Lacross Fip Pass, hold Y or Triangle then quickly press RB or R1 to try and send it to a teammate.

While executing the Lacrosse Deke animation is far easier this year, scoring with the iconic Zegras Flip is going to be a much more difficult challenge. In order to do it, you'll want to be coming around behind the night and be relatively close to the boards.

As you can see above, you'll sometimes even get a "Lacrosse" button prompt if your positioning is correct. To have the best chances of nailing a goal with the Zegras Flip, you want to keep the puck moving around the zone before going around the net and attempting this.

The more crowded the net is, the easier it will be for other defenders to either interrupt the animation or block the execution of The Michigan. If you can get things to line up correctly, your Lacrosse Deke will turn itself into one of the most unique looking goals in NHL 24.
