To tease the release of upcoming Stardew Valley update 1.6 coming 19 March to PC, ConcernedApe is posting one line of the upcoming patch notes each day until the release. Fans are excited to see what's coming next, from tiny bug fixes to major changes to the game. Without further ado, here are the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch notes we've seen so far.

Stardew Valley 1.6 Patch Notes

  • Cutting down a fruit tree now yields the appropriate fruit sapling. If the three is mature (i.e. the fruit quality is > basic), it will yield a sapling with the same quality as its fruit. The higher the quality, the faster the sapling will mature when planted.
  • Fixed bug where it was faster to harvest left-to-right than right-to-left. (The update will make them equally fast, not equally slow.)
  • Extend the area of effect of downward facing melee attacks

While we've gotten some sneak peeks at 1.6, Concerned Ape assured fans that the patch note teasers will be "non-spoilery" - so it's unlikely we'll hear of any game-changing story updates or previously unannounced new features before the update on 19 March. However, fans have responded positively to the patch notes released so far, with both of them addressing quality-of-life fixes that fans have asked for a long while.
