Trainwrecks claims he has lost nearly $12 MILLION from gambling on Twitch

Streamer Tyler “Trainwrecks” Niknam has become synonymous with gambling on Twitch and it has often landed him in hot water in the past (not that he seems to care) and he is making headlines yet again after he recently revealed some of the huge losses he has made in recent months.

The streamer recently went on record stating that he would like to end his gambling streams and if these figures are true few would suggest he does anything but.

Trainwrecks reveals staggering losses from gambling

Back in July 2021, Trainwrecks shockingly disclosed that he had lost $2 million and that he had been actively trying to gain it back. While he had been silent on whether he had gained or lost money since he made those comments, it appeared the latter occurred.

“Close to even? I’m still down 12.9 million dollars,” Trainwrecks stated. “That’s not close to even. That’s not even in the neighbourhood of even.”

According to the Twitch streamer, he was able to decrease the amount by almost half which is quite a remarkable turnaround. As such, has been able to come forward about his gambling habits which to him is "not bad" given the size of his bet.

“In nine months, I’ve lost $22.9 million. It was really f**king disgusting and bad. You don’t even understand. Like, all my friends knew, but I didn’t feel comfortable saying anything because those numbers are unfathomable.”

Nevertheless, Trainwrecks believes his transparency over his gambling habits represents the true "reality" of gambling.

“With how much I have wagered, I’m expected to be down $12 million. That should show you the reality of gambling, right? If, with my wagered, the expected down is $12 million, that should show you. Like, that’s the statistics of it.”

Since the beginning of his controversial gambling streams, Trainwreck has received criticism from fellow streamers including Imane “Pokimane” Anys and Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker. While HasanAbi had called Trainwreck a “degenerate”, Pokimane has been quite fair with her criticisms.

“The main issue or the main point of debate is that for some reason, Train thinks that his specific gambling is not bad because of the manner in which he goes about it”, Pokimane explained in her Twitch livestream back in July 2021.

The jury is still out on whether Twitch should have taken a firm stance against gambling streams, the streaming platform had implemented anti-gambling measures back in August 2021. Even so, it does show that Twitch has been taking notice of the prevalence of gambling streams on the platform however, it has yet to be determined if harsher moderations are on the cards.
