It's sad to think that mass shootings have become more and more frequent in recent years, but it's simply the reality of the world we now live in. Each time one of these tragic events takes place it calls into question what was the cause, the motive, and the why, as we struggle to wrap our minds around the situation.
The recent mass shooting in Buffalo, New York was a dark day, and it certainly hit home with the gaming/esports communities, as a live Twitch stream captured the horrific events. After the video was quickly removed from the platform, Twitch has now issued a statement following the shooting in Buffalo.

The investigation into the mass shooting in Buffalo, NY is still ongoing, however, we do have some important information at this point. The shooting was horrifically broadcast live on Twitch, and it appears the attack had been planned out on a public Discord server.

Discord has also spoken with Eurogamer following the incident, adding “We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims and their families, and we will do everything we can to assist law enforcement in the investigation.
We at GINX would like to state that our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time. We can only hope to strive for a world where tragedies like this do not occur anymore.
