Valorant has been out for a couple of years now and has undergone some massive changes to make the gameplay experience much better. With new Agents and new maps being introduced on top of system changes, the game has seen some much-needed improvements. Now that we're in Episode 8 Act 1, there's even more content on the horizon.

In Episode 8 Act 1, Icebox will be making a return to the map pool, and with it, one map will have to leave competitive and unrated queues. Down below, we'll go over the current map rotation for Valorant.

With all of the new maps that have been introduced to Valorant, not all of them can be on the rotation list for competitive gameplay. The reasons vary but this is largely to make sure that the competitive playlist for Valorant isn't crowded with too many maps. With that in mind, here is the current competitive map rotation for Valorant:

  • Ascent
  • Bind
  • Breeze
  • Icebox
  • Lotus
  • Split
  • Sunset

As you can see, with Icebox being back, Haven will leave the map pool for an indefinite time. Apart from this, Lotus will also undergo some major changes and you can have a look at them in our dedicated article.

When Does The Valorant Map Rotation Happen?

Now that you know which maps are currently in the Valorant rotation, it's time to know when that will change. There is no set period for Valorant competitive map rotation changes to happen.

Now the reason why maps will rotate in and out of competition will vary. Some maps need to be balanced to make sure that it's fair for both sides. Other times, a map will have been in rotation for too long, and it'll be time for a refresh. Either way, you can check back with us to know the current map rotation for Valorant.
