The first day of the VCT Game Changers is over and we witnessed one of the most hyped APAC teams, SMG, in action against Evil Geniuses. SMG played their first LAN series and in the first map itself, we saw a shocking agent composition by them that included four Duelists and Cypher.

The no controller comp on Lotus raised questions at first but the way they dominated the entire map and destroyed EG by winning it by 13-3 with enerii (Cypher), who is actually the Duelist of the team top fragging with 21 kills.

However, another shocking truth was revealed by enerii in the post match interview that it was not their plan to pick 4 duelists and it was actually a mistake as they thought it was a ping check rehearsal.

To be honest, it was a wrong agent pick. We thought that it was like a rehearsal." enerii said. "After that we realised that it was a mistake, but it's our mistake right, so we have to follow through with it. We accepted that it and we just kept playing and I think we handled it super well. I think we were able to be like very situational and make things work.

She revealed that the team didn't know how things work as it was their first LAN and it was not strategic at all.

SMG’s accidental agent pick turned out to be a blessing in disguise and made a statement in the tournament. After beating EG by 2-0 in the series, they will now face the defending champions G2 Gozen on November 30.
