Redfall Price Leak Suggests You'll Need Deep Pockets

According to a tweet from reliable leaker BillbilKun, the price for the upcoming open-world, co-op FPS Redfall and the option to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition have been revealed. The game, developed by Arkane Studios Austin and published by Bethesda Softworks, is set to be released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X|S in the first half of 2023.

According to the tweet, the Standard Edition of Redfall will cost €79.99, and the upgrade to the Deluxe Edition will cost an additional €29.99. Following this news, the price point has sparked some controversy among fans and gamers, with some expressing disappointment at the high cost. One Reddit user commented, "That’s intense, that’s almost $120 Canadian, and I could never see myself paying that much for the base game." Another user replied, "They'll round it down to $109.99, but that is STUPID dumb for [a] Standard Edition. Like, go f*ck yourselves levels of dumb."

Fortunately, there is some good news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as it has been announced that Redfall will be available to all active Game Pass subscribers for free at launch. At this time, it's not clear if the €29.99 Deluxe Edition upgrade for Redfall will apply to the "free" Game Pass version. That said, we can expect the developers to confirm the price and editions during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on 25 January 2023.

Despite the high price point, players and fans are excited to get their hands on Redfall and experience all the new features it has to offer. The game is set to release in the first half of 2023, so players will not have to wait long to play it.

What Is Redfall About?

Redfall is an upcoming first-person shooter video game set in the island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, where a group of vampires have taken over and blocked out the sun, cutting off the citizens from the outside world. Players can explore the open world, immerse themselves in a deep story campaign, and ally with a handful of survivors against the creatures threatening to bleed the town dry.

The game features single- and multiplayer options that allow players to venture alone or team up with up to four players, using specialized weapons and unique upgrades to suit their playstyle. The game also features a team of diverse heroes, each with special abilities, which they must use to overcome the vampire legion and their followers. The open world is handcrafted by master-level designers, in which players will fight through cultist outposts and supernatural psychic spaces as they piece together the game's many mysteries.
