As you’ll be in control of your witch or wizard, it's understandable to wonder if a character creation feature or mechanic will be available and accessible at the start of the game. Does Hogwarts Legacy Have Character Customization?

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Software are looking forward to the release of Hogwarts Legacy, the next installment in the Wizarding World franchise. The game is set to be released on February 2023. However, players eagerly waiting for the game's launch have questioned whether it will have a character customization feature and how extensive it will be.

According to the dedicated FAQ page on the game’s official website, the developer stated that the game would indeed have a character customization feature available, regardless of its platform. Therefore, players can customize their best witch or wizard before they start their journey at the acclaimed Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Additionally, the developer has added another relevant piece of information on how extensive the character customization feature will be in Hogwarts Legacy. “They can customize their character at the onset of their adventure. As they progress, they’ll also be able to develop their own special combat style.”

This confirms how the game’s leveling system will complement the game’s progression, as you can access various upgrades, talents, and a skill pool. As such, you’ll need to gain experience when competing in various challenges, which allow you to upgrade or customize your character’s abilities and talents and unlock skills.

Likewise, players can also upgrade their gear to perfectly complement their combat and playstyle, whether it be specializing in attack or defensive abilities. Lastly, it appears that the Room of Requirement will have some connections with the game’s customization feature, as locating this area allows you to customize and upgrade your abilities.

While the developer has yet to release more information on the Room of Requirement, we know that it does tie into the game’s customization feature, but there is no news on its impact. Nevertheless, once you complete your character’s creation, what remains is which house you wish to belong to, which can be done at the beginning of the game.
