Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was first released back in 2022. When it first launched, there were plenty of new Pokemon that were introduced in the game. Now that it has been nearly a year, the first DLC for Scarlet and Violet has launched. That first DLC is called The Teal Mask and it is going to introduce a completely new map and story for Scarlet and Violet.

In The Teal Mask, there is a new area, new Pokemon, and new abilities to check out. On top of that, there are going to be Pokemon that are returning as well. Pokemon like Flefable and Shiftry are making a comeback. But to access all of this content, you will need to know how to start The Teal Mask DLC in Scarlet and Violet. Here, we will teach you how to do so.

After you make your purchase of the new DLC for Scarlet and Violet, you will need to find a way to reach the new area in the game. From what we can tell, The Teal Mask can actually be accessed very early in the game. If you are starting a completely new game, you just need to complete the first story arc for the Treasure Hunt in Scarlet and Violet.

Doing so, you will get a call from one of the school professors named Jacq. He will then instruct you to come to the entrance hall of the school. There, you will see a blond woman with yellow text over her head. Talk to her and she will explain what is the plan for you to travel to another area. Talk to her again and she will take you to the new DLC area in Scarlet and Violet.

There are a couple of people who claim that they are unable to start the new Teal Mask DLC even though they purchased it ahead of time. There are a couple of things that you can do to remedy this situation. The first is to turn your game on and off again. Usually, this will help resolve a lot of different issues that you may have.

If that does not work, go to the options menu for Scarlet or Violet and press "Software Update." You should be then prompted to update your game to the version that has the DLC. This will be version 2.0.1 for Scarlet and Violet. Make sure you have an active internet connection for your Switch to update your game accordingly.
