Will Starfield have Denuvo

Read on to know whether Bethesda has incorporated the anti-cheat DRM Denuvo in Starfield.
Will Starfield have Denuvo

Are you worried about Starfield having Denuvo on PC? It's no surprise that Starfield's PC version has met with skepticism ever since Bethesda announced a partnership with AMD. The deal pretty much nullified an official DLSS support for the game at launch.

Bethesda Game Studios' titles don't have the best track record in terms of optimization and performance, especially at launch, and with DLSS out of the picture, fans are concerned about Starfield's optimization on PC. Another thing that could hinder its performance is the Anti-Tamper technology Denuvo. But does Starfield have Denuvo?

Does Starfield have Denuvo Support? Answered

No, Starfield doesn't have Denuvo. (Picture: Bethesda)

No, Starfield doesn't seem to have Denuvo at launch. While Bethesda hasn't released an official statement, the game's Steam listing suggests it won't be there. Usually, if a title has Denuvo, it's mentioned on its Steam page that it has incorporated a third-party DRM like Denuvo. Starfield, on the other hand, doesn't have any listings.

It's essential to point out that BGS' past titles, like Fallout 4 and Skyrim, didn't have Denuvo either. The studio's titles have always been a modder's paradise, and mod-heavy games don't usually have  Anti-Cheat software. Starfield has tremendous modding potential, so it's highly unlikely for the studio to incorporate anything that could hinder it.

However, some Bethesda Softworks' titles have had Denuvo support. Dishonored 2, for instance, created quite a controversy at launch with its terrible optimization on PC. While Arkane Studios ended up removing Denuvo later on, it left a sour taste in the community. Starfield is published by Bethesda Softworks, so a denuvo support isn't entirely impossible.
