Tfue forced to forfeit Twitch Rivals prize money, xQc's teammates banned after stream sniping fiasco

It seems Félix "xQc" Lengyel won't be the only one taking a break from Twitch, as the platform announced that fellow teammates Lucas "Mendo" Håkansson, David "GrandPooBear" Hunt, and Rabia "Nightblue3" Yazbek all received 7-day suspensions after incurring in stream sniping during GlitchCon's Fall Guys event.

On further review of GlitchCon, we have found that, in addition to xQcOW, players Nightblue3, Mendo, GrandPooBear, & Tfue violated our conduct rules. While initially, Twitch informed that xQc was the sole perpetrator of stream sniping during the final instances of the tournament, they deemed that, upon further review, the rest of his teammates were involved too.

High-profile participants in the tournament such as Shroud and Tyler1 had previously voiced their distaste for xQc's actions. Shroud claimed that it was something unprecedented for a hugely popular partnered stream like xQc to pull such a stunt in a Twitch sponsored event.

Tyler1 on the other hand was much more blunt, stating his wish to see the Canadian content creator be banned permanently.

They weren't the only affected by their actions, or in this case lack of, as former Fortnite pro Turner "Tfue" Ellis was forced to forfeit his prize money, as he was "aware of the act with his teammates and failing to inform the admins that this was occurring."

It seems neither will take action against Twitch, as they've all followed xQc's example of accepting their suspension and moving on, apologising in the process.

"We were just trying to entertain and didn't think much of our actions, we didn't have any impact but still well understand it was wrong, sorry!" Nightblue tweeted out.

We hope this is a learning experience for everyone involved, avoiding griefing and stream sniping as "content".
