NIP acquire ec1s to lead the Valorant roster, Ex6TenZ switches to coaching

Adam “ec1s” Eccles, a former Team Liquid player, has joined Ninjas in Pyjamas. He will replace Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans, who will be taking a break due to health reasons.

“It’s a great feeling and an honour to be joining NIP, I always aspired to get there one day,” says ec1s, who has been a free agent for the past two months, leading a mix called NoPoaching. “Our roster is bursting with talent, experience, and has the right mixture to be the best,” he adds.

The 21-year-old will be replacing a CS:GO legend Ex6TenZ, who joined NIP last December. The Belgian needed to take a break due to health injuries. “My goal now is to take the time to recover and come back. Active physiotherapy mixed to rest time are waiting for me,” he explains in a statement.

Although he’s taking a break, Ex6TenZ isn’t leaving the organization. The 31-year-old is making a switch to coaching and will act as an assistant coach to Emil “eMIL” Sandgren for an undisclosed period of time. “I’m glad that he stays and works with me for the time being, making use of all the experience he possesses,” says the head coach.

ec1s has one week to prepare Ninjas for an upcoming VCT Stage 3: Challengers 2 Open Qualifier, as it begins next week, on July 20th.
