Red Bull Home Ground: LDN UTD replace Team Heretics on eve of tournament

LDN UTD has been called on to take the place of Team Heretics in the upcoming Red Bull Home Ground.

Team Heretics currently only have two active players on their Valorant roster, having benched Amine "Amilwa" Saidi and Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski in September, and most recently Ondřej "MONSTEERR" Petrů who was dropped last week.

That leaves just captain, Christian "lowel" Garcia Antoran, Felix "al0rante" Brandl and potentially stand-in Mathias "Matti" Nielsen on the active player roster.

Given that the Red Bull Home Ground event starts on 4th November, with two players short and three days left - it is a recipe for disaster.

As mentioned, taking their place will be LDN UTD. The British org finished 2nd in the open qualifier, losing only to Ninjas in Pyjamas in the finals, and this will be the team's most high-profile Valorant event yet. They will face NIP, SuperMassive Blaze, and Stage 3 Masters winners, Gambit Esports.

LDN UTD's roster was recently revamped; they retained Lithuania's Lukas "feqew" Petrauskas and added his compatriots Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius, Tomas "Destrian" Linikas, Aurimas "Dreamas" Zablockis, as well as Poland's Michal "MOLSI" Łącki.

The Red Bull Home Ground runs from 4-7th November, returning for its second year, boasting a €54,000 prize pool and sixteen of the top teams from the EMEA region.

The event will be broadcast live from the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Shoreditch, London.
