New King Kong Game Officially Announced For This Year

A new King Kong game is releasing later this year and will feature you playing as the main Gorilla himself as he hunts his way across Skull Island. 

According to the press release, Skull Island Rise of Kong will see you "take on an action-packed quest to avenge the death of Kong's parents at the hands of the ultimate alpha predator: the saurian terror Gaw. Traverse the mysterious island and uncover its secrets across a variety of treacherous environments, discovering the power coursing through its exotic flora and fauna."

The game will allow you to unleash combos on your opponents and use your rage to make your attacks hit even harder. The press release also states that you'll be unlocking new abilities through various different special events and fighting bosses in your travels across the island as you make your way to Gaw himself and get your revenge on the man who killed your parents. 

The game is due to launch later this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Two versions of the game are available, a standard edition and a digital deluxe edition which comes with eight exclusive film grains, a boss-rush mode, behind-the-scenes elements, and various skins for Kong himself.
