It has been a season of monumental, tectonic shifts in the landscape of League of Legends. No more Bjergsen in the mid lane for TSM<\/a>, no more Uzi in the LPL<\/a>, no more Perkz at G2<\/a>… and now, no more Rekkles at Fnatic.<\/p>\n

After an incredible career in the black and orange, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has decided to move on from Fnatic.<\/p>\n

The news was broken over Twitter this evening: despite a massive offer on the table, Rekkles has chosen to leave Fnatic after testing the waters in the free agency market.<\/p>\n

And according to nearly all reports he will be reuniting with Rasmus “Caps” Winther at G2 Esports.<\/p>\n

Sources: @G2esports<\/a> just signed former @FNATIC<\/a> AD Carry @RekklesLoL<\/a> to replace @G2Perkz<\/a> on the 2021 #LEC<\/a> season.<\/p>\n

Fnatic also started talking with other ADCs to replace the Swedish Superstar.<\/p>\n

The move was long speculated – especially after Perkz’ departure from G2 – but it is a massive changing of the guard. G2 had allegedly been angling for a deal with Rekkles but had also shown interest in former OG ADC Upset and SK Gaming ADC Crownshot in the event that Rekkles resigned with Fnatic or looked elsewhere.<\/p>\n

The move, while currently unconfirmed, would leave G2 Esports with a formidable roster as a potential Worlds contender. Rekkles was a Worlds finalist in 2018, took TES to five games in 2020, and is joining a squad that won MSI only last year, hit Worlds finals shortly after, and went to semi-finals this year. Expectations are through the roof.<\/p>\n
