Phasmophobia, the co-op ghost-hunting experience from Kinetic Games, has taken the world by storm<\/a>, with big Twitch streamers<\/a> jumping on the ever-so-frightening bandwagon. If you have finally built up the nerve to try out the horror title, and plan on hunting some ghosts, you probably need to know all the Phasmophobia ghost types and the evidence you will need to identify them. Thankfully, you don’t have to call the Ghostbusters, we’ve got you covered.<\/p>\n

All Phasmophobia ghost types & evidence required<\/h2>\n

To successfully finish a session of Phasmophobia, you will need to identify the ghost via gathering evidence. <\/p>\n

Each of the 12 Phasmophobia ghost types has different combinations of evidence pointing the players in the right direction. They also have some characteristics in case you are unable to find all the evidence required. <\/p>\n

Below, you can view all the Phasmophobia ghost types, as well as the evidence you need, and their characteristics.<\/p>\n

Spotting them for the first time is sure to give you a fright, which is a big part of the game, so we won’t show you exactly what they look like. <\/p>\n

 <\/div>\n

Banshee <\/h3>\n

The banshee ghost type in Phasmophobia will only target one person at a time and fears the Crucifix item.<\/p>\n

Evidence:<\/p>\n

  • Fingerprints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Spirit<\/h3>\n

    You can use Smudge Sticks to stop it from attacking.<\/p>\n

    • Fingerprints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Phantom<\/h3>\n

      Taking a picture will make the Phantom disappear, while player Sanity will drop as you are looking for it. <\/p>\n

      • Ghost Orb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Wraith<\/h3>\n

        Does not leave any footsteps and has a bad reaction to Salt.<\/p>\n

        • Fingerprints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Poltergeist<\/h3>\n

          The poltergeist ghost type of Phasmophobia throws a tonne of objects around, so an empty room makes in rather harmless.<\/p>\n

          Evidence:<\/p>\n

          • Ghost Orb<\/li>\n
          • Fingerprints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Jinn<\/h3>\n

            The further you are away from this ghost type of Phasmophobia, the faster it travels. You can turn off power sources to neutralize it. Goes well with tonic (yes, the last one was a joke).<\/p>\n

              Revenant<\/h3>\n

              The Revenant travels quickly when hunting someone, so hiding from it causes this ghost type to move very slowly.<\/p>\n

              • Ghost Writing<\/li>\n
              • Fingerprints<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Mare<\/h3>\n

                Doesn’t like it when the lights go on, so it won’t attack as much. In the dark, however, it has an increased chance of attacking.<\/p>\n

                • Ghost Orb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Demon<\/h3>\n

                  The most aggressive of the Phasmophobia ghost types. If you ask the Demon successful questions via the Ouija board, it will not lower your sanity level. <\/p>\n

                    Shade<\/h3>\n

                    Difficult to locate as it is quite a shy ghost type in Phasmophobia. It will not hunt if there are one or more other players nearby.<\/p>\n

                    • Ghost Orb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Yurei<\/h3>\n

                      Has a huge effect on player sanity. You can use Smudge Sticks on the ghost’s room to prevent it from wandering too much. <\/p>\n

                        Oni<\/h3>\n

                        More active by moving objects when there are players nearby, which makes it easy to find and identify.<\/p>\n

                          After you’ve successfully gathered the evidence on the ghost type in a Phasmophobia session, you can head back to the truck, press “J” to bring up your journal to double-check the data, then enter the correct type of ghost.<\/p>\n
