They were two wins away from qualification.<\/p><p><\/p><p>The <a aria-label=\"Call of Duty community (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/cod\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Call of Duty community<\/a> has been genuinely shocked by Mindfreak not qualifying, with a number of pro players and casters tweeting out about the situation.<\/p><p><\/p><figure>\r\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/silly702\/status\/1152382094510907395<\/p>\r\n<\/figure><p><\/p><figure>\r\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/Momo\/status\/1152382602810204162?s=20<\/p>\r\n\r\n<figcaption>&nbsp;<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure><p><\/p><figure>\r\n<p><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hope to see the Mindfreak lads on rosters next year in franchising, some unreal talent in all 5 of those boys.<\/p>&mdash; Mark Bryceland (@MarkyB) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarkyB\/status\/1152383657811808256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 20, 2019<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\r\n<\/figure><p><\/p><p>This also means no Asia-Pacific teams will be attending this year&#8217;s Call of Duty World Championships &acirc;&#128;&#147; the first time this has happened in Call of Duty esports history.<\/p><p><\/p><p>It&#8217;s clear that this situation has baffled the community, and with a franchised league being incorporated into CoD esports next year it&#8217;s possible we don&#8217;t see an Australian team compete at the highest level for a while, which would be truly sad to see.<\/p><p><\/p><p>The CWL Amateur Finals offers a &#36;150,000 prize pool and the top 16 teams also qualify for Champs. Meanwhile, the CWL Pro League playoffs, happening alongside the AM finals, features a &#36;1,250,000 prize pool to be divided amongst the best Call of Duty teams the esport has to offer, as well as seeding for Champs.<\/p><p><\/p><p>It&#8217;s one of the most important tournaments of the year for both pros and amateurs, and all the action can be caught live on <a aria-label=\"Call of Duty's official Twitch channel (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.twitch.tv\/callofduty\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Call of Duty&#8217;s official Twitch channel<\/a>.<\/p><p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Australian team Mindfreak has failed to qualify for the Call of Duty World Championships for the first time since 2014.
