Despite a glitchy launch and a whole lot of drama<\/a>, including CD Projekt RED facing a class-action lawsuit over Cyberpunk 2077<\/a>, Night City is hard to resist. If you have taken the plunge into Night City, then you might need a guide for one of the earlier missions.<\/p>\n

Specifically, in this guide, we show you how to remove a virus from a Militech chip, since those new to the game might easily fail to get it done the first time around.<\/p>\n

Please note: Spoilers for one of Cyberpunk 2077’s early missions to follow.<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk 2077 Militech chip: How to remove virus<\/h2>\n

The Pickup mission is one of the first you can complete after finishing the main story quest “The Ride”. <\/p>\n

As with most missions in Cyberpunk 2077, there is more than one way to get things done, or in this case, get yourself out of (or into) a sticky situation.<\/p>\n

First off, during The Pickup mission, you will have the option to contact Meredith Stout, a Militech agent, and one of your romance options in Cyberpunk 2077<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After you’ve given her a call and arranged a meeting, Meredith Stout will hand you a Militech chip, which is filled with Eddies, and a virus.<\/p>\n

This Militech Datashard is encrypted, and if you want to, you can decrypt it as well as remove the virus in one clever move.<\/p>\n

If you didn’t follow the prompt to hack the Militech chip, you can open your menu and go to the Shards menu, where you will find the Militech Datashard right at the bottom. <\/p>\n
