Since then, fans have been waiting for Valve to weigh in. Now, Valve has finally made a decision, banning Newbee and their former Dota 2 squad permanently.<\/p>\n<h2>Newbee gets banned permanently<\/h2>\n<p>Since its creation in 2014, Newbee has been one of the biggest Chinese Dota 2 teams, amassing over 13,000,000 USD in winnings. The squad won The International 2014 and ended second in 2017, which resulted in the lion&#8217;s share of their winnings.<\/p>\n<p>Valve and Perfect World announced Newbee&#8217;s permanent ban on <a href=\"https:\/\/weibo.com\/3083660057\/JBsVorrD9?from=page_1006063083660057_profile&amp;wvr=6&amp;mod=weibotime&amp;type=comment#_rnd1609670857556\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the official Dota 2 Weibo account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/c7LwtUvfF7WluKi2NfldKD4_rYTldP-XDvd-QILAOrQ\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL0RvdGEyTmV3YmVlMS5qcGc_X3Q9MTYwOTczNzQ0Mg\" alt=\"Dota 2 newbee permanently banned Valve match-fixing\" width=\"600\" height=\"207\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Dota 2 Weibo)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The organization, as well as the following former players, have been permanently banned by Valve:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Xu &#8220;Moogy&#8221; Han<\/li>\n<li>Yin &#8220;AQ&rsquo; Rui&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Wen &#8220;Wizard&#8221; Lipeng<\/li>\n<li>Yan &#8220;Waixi&#8221; Chao<\/li>\n<li>Zeng &#8220;Faith&#8221; Hongda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While this news doesn&#8217;t come as a massive surprise, the fact remains Dota 2 esports has lost some legends.<\/p>\n<p>Valve&#8217;s Wykrhm Reddy also <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wykrhm\/status\/1345635398081363969\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">took to Twitter<\/a> to announce the news about the Newbee ban on Twitter for the international audience.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cke_pagebreak\" style=\"page-break-after: always;\" title=\"Page Break\" contenteditable=\"false\" aria-label=\"Page Break\" data-cke-display-name=\"pagebreak\" data-cke-pagebreak=\"1\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/yFJSIyvA_9D460tU3cJR2pz7R8HxpbxTDLZmasllqbs\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL0RvdGEyTmV3YmVlMi5qcGc_X3Q9MTYwOTczNzQ3MA\" alt=\"Dota 2 newbee permanently banned Valve match-fixing\" width=\"600\" height=\"301\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Twitter)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Both&nbsp;Zeng &#8220;Faith&#8221; Hongda and Xu &#8220;Moogy&#8221; Han were part of the Newbee squad which placed second at The International 2017.
