Having left Team Liquid last month, Kayys now joins Origen at an exciting time for LoL esports<\/a> in Europe. The team are playing the final week of the LEC, where a top six finish is within their grasp and playoffs and qualification for the 2019 World Championship are the next step.<\/p>

<\/p>

The RFRSH Entertainment group took the Origen name to compete in the LEC, but following controversy surrounding the company, their BLAST Pro Series tournaments and their ownership of Astralis, both teams are operating independently from RFRSH.<\/p>

<\/p>

Origen hired Jakub “JKor” Kornecki as an analyst in March during LEC Spring, so it is expected that the pair will work together in the future. During the Spring, Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm and Patrik “Patrik” Jírů earned 5 MVPs each and Origen finished second in the playoffs to G2 Esports after a slow initial debut for the revived brand name.<\/p>

<\/p>

Sitting in the middle of the table in 6th at 6-8, Kayys’ input could be the difference-maker for the Origen team. The four remaining games include three against teams below them in the league right now: Rogue, Excel Esports and SK Gaming. They do not need to beat them all to secure a place in the playoffs, but any further losses would be a worrying sign. The Week 4 loss to Rogue and loss to Vitality the following week came as a surprise to all of the talent and fans alike.<\/p>

<\/p>

The top three teams that have already secured their playoff spots are G2, Splyce and fnatic. This leaves three spots for the remaining teams to fight for. Kayys’ previous team, Team Liquid, cruised through to the playoffs<\/a> and he will be looking to help Origen repeat this path.<\/p>
