{"id":11741,"date":"2021-01-19T17:42:08","date_gmt":"2021-01-19T17:42:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/zoomaa-steps-down-competitive-call-of-duty-ahead-of-2021-cdl-season"},"modified":"2024-07-19T09:28:44","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T09:28:44","slug":"zoomaa-steps-down-competitive-call-of-duty-ahead-of-2021-cdl-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty\/zoomaa-steps-down-competitive-call-of-duty-ahead-of-2021-cdl-season","title":{"rendered":"ZooMaa steps down from competitive Call of Duty due to hand injury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thomas &ldquo;ZooMaa&rdquo; Paparatto has announced he&rsquo;s stepping back from competitive Call of Duty for the foreseeable future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old was set to compete for New York Subliners in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/call-of-duty\/call-of-duty-league-2021-opening-weekend-dates-kickoff-classic-announced\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Call of Duty League 2021<\/a> season, starting this weekend with Kickoff Classic, but has announced he&rsquo;ll no longer be playing due to a hand injury.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a post on Twitter, ZooMaa wrote: &ldquo;A few years back while on FaZe, I struggled with weakness in my thumb\/wrist and needed surgery. Going through that process of getting healthy again was one of the hardest things I ever had to do both physically and mentally, which led to a lot of stress and anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Unfortunately, the injury has returned making it really hard for me to compete at the highest level against some of the best players in the world.
