{"id":11997,"date":"2021-01-27T01:08:08","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T01:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/cyberpunk-2077-gets-official-modding-support"},"modified":"2024-07-19T09:26:48","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T09:26:48","slug":"cyberpunk-2077-gets-official-modding-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/cyberpunk-2077\/cyberpunk-2077-gets-official-modding-support","title":{"rendered":"Cyberpunk 2077 gets official modding support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CD Projekt Red has released official Cyberpunk 2077 modding support tools, less than two months after the game&#8217;s release.<\/p>\n<p>These are great news for the game&#8217;s already thriving modding community, as these tools will be of great use in their work and will make their job much easier and streamlined, without need for workarounds.<\/p>\n<p>One of the best things with huge open-world games are endless modding possibilities which allow for creative fans to express their ideas and create all kind of interesting stuff, from unofficial improvements and useful add-ons to all kind of wacky stuff, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/the-witcher\/play-as-fat-geralt-with-dad-bod-the-witcher-3-mod\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the &#8220;Dad Bod&#8221; Geralt<\/a> mod for The Witcher 3.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/z60QWOjYCyfTUrcMmWAUZoSCXDsG7Cd4racWbA1S0dQ\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL0N5YmVycHVua18yMDc3L0N5YmVycHVua19HYW5nXzEucG5n\" alt=\"Cyberpunk Modding Support Tools mods\" width=\"512\" height=\"228\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: CD Projekt)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And the most ambitious modders are making their own fully-fledged worlds and stories, like recently released <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/xtMgxLiW52Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fallout: The Frontier.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The official Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Support Tools page currently has the following tools available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Metadata &#8211; Per game release, required by some of the tools<\/li>\n<li>ArchiveDump &#8211; A utility for listing contents of game data archives<\/li>\n<li>TweakDump &#8211; A utility for listing contents of game Tweak DB (game settings) binaries<\/li>\n<li>TweakDB IDs &#8211; A list of IDs of Tweak DB entries. Generated using TweakDump and tweakdb.str metadata&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While this list of official tools and resources for Cyberpunk 2077 modding is nowhere near as impressive as the one for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexusmods.com\/witcher3\/mods\/3173?tab=description\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Witcher 3,<\/a> it is still a great thing to see official modding support tools being released this early, and CD Projekt RED promises that this is just the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tools will be continuously updated alongside with game patches to ensure compatibility,&#8221; reads the official release.<\/p>\n<p>Modding support is one of the highly-requested features for the game and CD Projekt has kept their promise at least when it comes to this. Back in 2019 CD Projekt&#8217;s global community lead Marcin Momot said that the game will get modding support sometime after the launch, in a now-deleted post on CD Projekt forums.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/TPyiL1vwLAoJ5eCyc909_ptrdiLf_Ipqqbq6odaSpSo\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL05ld0ZvbGRlci9jeWJlcnB1bmtfMjA3N19saWdodHNfX3NlaXp1cmVzX2NvdmVyLmpwZw\" alt=\"Cyberpunk Modding Support Tools mods\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: CD Projekt)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>While the game has gone through hell over the past few weeks due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/cyberpunk-2077\/cyberpunk-2077-game-breaking-bug-takemura-call\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">numerous bugs<\/a> and underdelivered features, Cyberpunk 2077 was still insanely successful in terms of sales and revenue, becoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superdataresearch.com\/blog\/worldwide-digital-games-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the biggest game launch of all time<\/a> when it comes to digital sales, with more than 10.2M units sold in December.<\/p>\n<p>CD Projekt is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/cyberpunk-2077\/cyberpunk-2077-devs-apologize-and-reveal-updates-roadmap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">promising they will fix the game<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/cyberpunk-2077\/cyberpunk-2077-v1-1-patch-notes-stability-improvements-performance-optimization-quests-fixes-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the first patch<\/a> in 2021 has been released last week.<\/p>\n<p>Cyberpunk patch 1.2 is expected to be released sometime in early February.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CD Projekt Red has released official Cyberpunk 2077 modding support tools, less than two months after the game&#8217;s release.
