Rocket League developers have never shied away from offering their player base as many options as they can come up with for you to express yourself on the pitch.

We’ve seen everything from Alpha rewards worth thousands-of-dollars to Batman v. Superman inspired bodies, decals and goodies.

But one of the less known but widely recognizable customization options was right under our noses this whole time — and by “our noses”, I mean our in-game account name.

Those untradeable, hard-earned titles that appear below our Rocket League display name when we score or appear on the scoreboard.

You may have disabled them because of aesthetic or because it looks cleaner without it. But let me tell you, if you had any of the following player titles, you would never disable again in your life.

These are a combination of once-in-a-lifetime and still-obtainable-but-hard-af, so without further ado, here are the 10 rarest, most unique player titles in Rocket League history.

Let’s start with an easy one. Rocket Demigod is a player title awarded to anyone who has reached XP Level 1000 in-game. Player titles are awarded every 20 levels until level 100 then every 100 levels until reaching level 1000.

While there is no finite number of Rocket Demigod’s going around, if you ever stumble upon one of them just keep in mind it takes 19,790,000 XP points to unlock it.

That is a lot of goals, saves, wins, weekly and seasonal challenges. Put some “respeck” on their name.

This one might throw some people off their rhythm. You see, before the free-to-play update and the introduction of a rank higher than what we knew was the ceiling until then, Supersonic Legend was only a player title awarded after getting to XP Level 700.

XP Level 700 is achieved by getting 13,790,000 XP points and after Patch v1.81, the Supersonic Legend title was replaced with the current Level 700 reward, Legendary Nemesis.

Honestly, it was kind of sad seeing this title go away. I remember friends and teammates losing this player title as they had it equipped and they could no longer brag “being an SSL” while stuck in platinum. It is what it is, I guess.

From the long list of player titles, we are dipping our toes in “never obtainable again” waters. You only go free-to-play once and unless they decide to go pay-u-to-play to re-release these player titles, you are stuck with your starting year until the end of time.

The most obscure of them all, of course, is EST. 2015 — the year Rocket League, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars’ sequel released.

Honestly, these are some of my favourite player titles — EST. 2015 or EST. 2020, because now I can judge your ability by your rotations, whiffs and dribbles in comparison to how long you have been playing. You dug your own grave, plats.

These player title has been given out by Psyonix personally to couples that met through Rocket League and later got married. The title has a Light Green glow to it, so it’ll be pretty easy to recognize as soon as you see it hit your screen.

There are currently 10 users meaning five total couples that have this player title: Manicmonkey5 & onomatopoeia1337, Hevyk3vy & neatoqueenrl, ChisTheBlond & Pinapul, Rando & Fruitloop, and LemonGerth & GracefulGazelle.

I am not one to brag therefore I won’t say much about my rank, but if I can boast about anything is that I played against one of the Rockets Engaged player title holders.

Now, this might seem silly but hear me out. The title is The Pigeon Man and it glows Forest Green.

This player title was given out to player Johnz12321 for… *checks notes* collecting 1,000 Pigeon toppers in-game.

I wish I could give you more context, except that — wait, yes I can.

Johnz12321’s Twitter reads “The guys with The Pigeon Man Title” and it still has 2016-2017 tweets of his journey to collect 1K Pigeon toppers.

He completed the feat on the 23rd February and he was instantly contacted via Reddit by Devin, the most public-facing Psyonix developer, who asked John to check his in-game titles next time he opens Rocket League.

Huge disclaimer for collectors, Psyonix Devin commented under his initial contact with Johnz12321 the following “This a one-time event. We aren’t giving custom titles to anyone else who collects 500, 1000, 10000, etc. of anything.” You’ve been warned.

This one still hurts my heart. One of my own personal drives in my Rocket League grind was always to get my digital wheels on the Season (X) Grand Champion player titles.

These titles have a golden glow and it drew me like Icarus to the sun.

(Image: Psyonix)
