This is a huge blow to coaches who did nothing wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Back in September last year, ESIC banned 37 coaches for use of the long-standing spectator bug, and there have also been a lot of stream-sniping accusations thrown into the mix.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>CS:GO coaches locked out of online matches<\/h2>\n<p>In CS:GO, coaches play a vital role in helping their team, and providing tactics as well as support to a team&#8217;s in-game leader.<\/p>\n<p>Since CS:GO tournaments are being played online only due to the global COVID-19 pandemic,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/cs-go\/cs-go-team-vitality-fined-10-000-for-stream-sniping\">reports of stream-sniping<\/a> are increasing, and the use of the spectator bug by 37 coaches shocked the CS:GO community.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/ezsisYXzXrPNcxwXmTf5ss7pu-EYLgXOHX9_LifqXb0\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL2NzZ29fbmV3LmpwZz9fdD0xNTg1MzA0NzY5\" alt=\"csgo_new.jpg?_t=1585304769\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" loading=\"lazy\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Valve)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In response to the ESIC investigation, Valve has now effectively locked out CS:GO coaches and support staff from online matches.<\/p>\n<p>Valve <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.counter-strike.net\/index.php\/2021\/01\/32375\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">explains in a new blog post<\/a>: &#8220;In addition to consequences for individuals, we have also thought about how commonly coaches exploited the bug, for how long it went unreported, as well as how common coach stream-sniping accusations have been.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To avoid the diminished integrity of coaching from casting a shadow on the integrity of Valve-sponsored events, we&rsquo;ll be changing the restrictions on support staff.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The restrictions are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only players are allowed in the room and on the server during online matches.<\/li>\n<li>Coaches and any other support staff will not be allowed in the room or on the server.<\/li>\n<li>CS:GO coaches or any staff will not be allowed to communicate with the players.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Valve also dropped another zinger, deciding coaches who were found by ESIC to have exploited the spectator bug will not be eligible to participate in a number of future Valve-sponsored events.<\/p>\n<p>The number of events is determined by the extent of the abuse. The table below translates ESIC demerits into Major ineligibility:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/fIsNPe6kpeHBPi-CYK4d4m6xmPV799R_y2-E6m2PswQ\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL0NTR09jb2FjaGVzaW5zaWRldGFibGUuanBnP190PTE2MTE4MDk2MDk\" alt=\"CS:GO coaches online matches banned ESIC prohibited RMR update 2021\" width=\"600\" height=\"301\" loading=\"lazy\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Valve)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>While some coaches might only miss the PGL Stockholm Major, others will be banned permanently from Valve-sponsored events.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cke_pagebreak\" style=\"page-break-after: always;\" title=\"Page Break\" contenteditable=\"false\" aria-label=\"Page Break\" data-cke-display-name=\"pagebreak\" data-cke-pagebreak=\"1\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<h2>CS:GO RMR update for 2021<\/h2>\n<p>In case you missed it, Valve recently revealed the first Major of 2021 as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/cs-go\/the-next-cs-go-major-will-be-stockholm-2021-record-2m-prize-pool\">PGL Stockholm Major<\/a>. To get to a Major, teams compete in RMR events, gaining points throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/1Z-DlnZXK-QR64CjXh0amC1a8y3H_DW0iC51bsxBP7E\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL0NTR09Db2FjaGVzSW5zaWRlMi5qcGc_X3Q9MTYxMTgwOTY0MA\" alt=\"CSGOCoachesInside2.jpg?_t=1611809640\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" loading=\"lazy\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: PGL)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Valve shared some details on the CS:GO RMR event system for 2021, and again mentioned prohibiting coaches in matches. Check out the highlights below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RMR points are reset for 2021, however, the 2020 RMR Legends will start with 600, Challengers with 300, and contenders with 100 points.<\/li>\n<li>Teams can now specify a substitute player (any player who is not registered to participate or substitute for another team) that is separate from their coach.<\/li>\n<li>A team incurs a penalty when they substitute out a player in an event, but there is no penalty when that player is brought back in.<\/li>\n<li>During online matches only players are allowed in the room and on the server.
