The long-rumoured Diablo 2 remaster has been finally announced during the BlizzConLine opening ceremony on 19th February.

Diablo 2 Remaster rumours have been going on for quite some time, with Vicarious Visions recently being all but confirmed as a studio working on the remaster.

The name of the remaster, Diablo 2 Resurrected, has been guessed correctly as well, and Vicarious Visions has been working with Blizzard since last year on bringing back Diablo 2.

Now that the game has been officially confirmed, let’s take a look at everything we currently know about it.

Diablo 2 Resurrected visual changes and upgrades

Diablo 2: Resurrected comes with a new 3D engine and completely recreated cinematics.

The game’s visuals are upgraded to support 4K and high refresh rates like 144 Hz, and everything else which you expect from modern video games.

And while the game uses a new 3D engine, Diablo 2: Resurrected has been built upon the game’s original code, and besides these new visuals, the game itself is the exact same Diablo 2 like it was 20 years ago.

The only new things are models, surroundings and visual effects, while the way the game works remains completely the same.
