Team BDS are champions again — they have won yet another RLCS X tournament against Renault Vitality this time in showpiece EU Winter major. <\/p>\n

Coming back from a 3-1 series deficit and avoiding a bracket reset, BDS turned it up to 11 eliminating Vitality once again. <\/p>\n

A bracket reset can only be caused during double-elimination tournaments when the Lower Bracket and Upper Bracket winners face off in the Grand Finals. The Lower Bracket finalist, in this case, Renault Vitality, needed to beat the Upper Bracket finalist, Team BDS, twice.<\/p>\n

Alex “Extra” Paoli finished off the series with an OT score winning himself and his team another major RLCS X Championship.<\/p>\n

With the result, BDS earned themselves $36,000 and 802 points, while 2nd place Renault Vitality walk away with $18,000 and 600 points.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth time BDS topped Renault Vitality in the Grand Finals since the start of the revamped RLCS X<\/a>, finishing first against them in The Grid Week 4, Winter Regional Event #1 and the Fall Major.<\/p>\n

Team BDS and Renault Vitality had met the day before in the Winners’ Semifinals with BDS coming on top 4-2 — offering a chance at redemption in the Grand Finals for Vitality<\/p>\n

The French side was looking for their first championship win since Fall Regional #3 and seeking revenge, took the BDS bull by the horns.<\/p>\n

Firing hot and heavy on the European behemoth, Vitality’s own Alexandre “Kaydop” Courant secured a 3-1 lead with back-to-back goals in Game 4.<\/p>\n

But a lead is only safe when the series is over and in BDS-fashion, they came back pushing the series to its limit and avoiding the bracket reset by winning Games 5, 6 and 7 outscoring Vitality 7-2 in that span.<\/p>\n

Vitality’s vengeance rejected by BDS<\/h2>\n

BDS did BDS things during their Upper Bracket run knocking down Galaxy Racer, Dignitas and eventual finalists, Renault Vitality.<\/p>\n

Their toughest challenge actually came in facing Renault Vitality with both series being pushed to Game 7 and having to rely on an awkward 50 on their first meeting to win.<\/p>\n

Renault Vitality, on the other hand, found themselves in a hole after being knocked down to the Lower Bracket — beating Endpoint and Team Queso until falling victim to BDS’ run.<\/p>\n

Increasing their number of series by three, Vitality had to survive Top Blokes, Guild Esports and Dignitas to get a shot at redemption against their RLCS X nemesis.<\/p>\n

The EU Winter Major Finals featured the region’s Top 2 in the leaderboards and the finish creates a ginormous separation between them and the rest.<\/p>\n
