Since the game is only a few weeks old, it&rsquo;s not far from fully optimized.<\/p>\n<p>Though this is rough for players with older hardware, there are some steps you can take to possibly give you an extra 20-30 frames in Valheim.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/valheim\/valheim-player-recreates-the-millennium-falcon-and-it-s-amazing\">Valheim player recreates the Millennium Falcon&#8230; and it&#8217;s amazing<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have detailed some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/valheim\/valheim-how-to-increase-fps\">easy FPS increases you can obtain in Valheim<\/a> before but two new tweaks have have been discovered that have shown to increase performance even more.<\/p>\n<h3>Increasing your FPS in Valheim&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p>The steps originate from a Reddit post that was published last week. It details three different steps you can take to ensure a significant FPS bump. These steps aren&rsquo;t difficult to perform at all and take your Valheim experience to the next level.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Coming from Reddit user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/valheim\/comments\/lizxq9\/valheim_fps_fix_benchmark_picture_guide_gained_an\/\">RustyB3ans<\/a>, the tweaks are claimed to give players an extra 30 frames on average. Depending on your hardware, this number could either be increased or decreased.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ephox-summary-card\" style=\"max-width: 650px;\" data-ephox-embed-iri=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/valheim\/comments\/lizxq9\/valheim_fps_fix_benchmark_picture_guide_gained_an\/\"><a class=\"ephox-summary-card-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/valheim\/comments\/lizxq9\/valheim_fps_fix_benchmark_picture_guide_gained_an\/\"><span class=\"ephox-summary-card-title\">r\/valheim &#8211; Valheim FPS fix benchmark + picture guide *GAINED AN INSANE 39 FPS BOOST*<\/span><span class=\"ephox-summary-card-description\">3,621 votes and 610 comments so far on Reddit<\/span><span class=\"ephox-summary-card-author\">RustyB3ans<\/span><span class=\"ephox-summary-card-website\">reddit<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The first step you can perform is to add some text to your Valheim folder&rsquo;s Boot file. This is found within your Valheim folder and under the &ldquo;Valheim_Data&rdquo; sub-folder. Right-click on the Boot file and make sure to open it with the Notepad app. Once in the Notepad, insert the following text:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>gfx-enable-jobs=1<\/li>\n<li>gfx-enable-native-gfx-jobs=1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/6hGPoF41H_4d3dv65CmVCG1bwjRFF-BG4-jyv90Skzc\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL1ZhbGhlaW1fRlBTLnBuZw\" alt=\"Valheim FPS boost\" width=\"670\" height=\"385\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>Make sure to save your changes in the Notepad after you&rsquo;re done and then this step is complete.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The next step is to head into Steam and enter some text into the Launch Options. Go to your Games tab in Steam, right-click on Valheim and click &ldquo;Properties.&rdquo; Under the &ldquo;General&rdquo; tab, enter the following text into the Launch Options box:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>-window-mode exclusive&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/fIBnpxGMB_CFHNXFz15xFjhW1UtJN7VZbQtUzELEgTs\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL1ZhbGhlaW1fc3RlYW1fZml4LnBuZw\" alt=\"Valheim steam fps fix\" width=\"834\" height=\"594\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>Finally, start up Task Manager and then Valheim. Once the game is running, go to the &ldquo;Details&rdquo; tab in the Task Manager, find the Valheim.exe file and right-click.
