Taking place on December 13-14, BLAST Pro Series has partnered with the Bahrain Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs to organise the competition, which they are calling “the biggest esports event ever held in the region”.<\/p>

<\/p>

The four top-performing teams in the BLAST circuit will be invited to the event in the Persian Gulf, with seven teams hoping to have booked their place following this weekend’s BLAST event in Moscow, Russia. As it stands, Team Liquid, Astralis, FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pyjamas occupy the top spots, with MIBR, Natus Vincere<\/a> and Cloud9 hoping to catch up and make it to the Global Finals.<\/p>

<\/p>

As it stands, all seven of these teams could still potentially qualify to the $500,000 tournament, with the winner earning $350,000.<\/p>

<\/p>

“Bahrain is the perfect place to hold the 2019 Global Final,” said Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST Pro Series. “There is already a strong and engaged base of fans, an emerging scene of talented young players, and a country famed for its welcoming hospitality.<\/p>

<\/p>

“We will be bringing four of the world’s best teams to battle it out for the chance to be crowned Champion.”<\/p>

<\/p>

The BLAST Pro Series leaderboard is currently as follows:<\/p>

  1. Team Liquid – 26 points<\/li>\r\n\t
  2. Astralis – 22 points<\/li>\r\n\t
  3. FaZe Clan -–20 points<\/li>\r\n\t
  4. Ninjas in Pyjamas – 10 points<\/li>\r\n\t
  5. MIBR – 8 points<\/li>\r\n\t
  6. Natus Vincere – 8 points<\/li>\r\n\t
  7. Cloud9 – 6 points<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>

    <\/p>

    Bahrain isn’t typically a place tournament organisers look to to host events – especially not an event that is supposed to be their biggest one – but it definitely brings a new audience to the forefront in a rarely-seen territory. There have definitely been some question marks around the decision, but it’ll no doubt be great to see some of the world’s best CS:GO teams<\/a> in action.<\/p>
