The new cities to have been announced are London, Seattle and Chicago and are expected to be the final teams joining the first season of the Call of Duty franchised league. They will be joining cities such as Paris, New York and Minnesota in the 12-team league, which is said to have been selling spots for a minimum of $25 million.<\/p>

<\/p>

The London franchise is owned by ReKTGlobal and Rogue, who also owns a spot in the League of Legends<\/a> European Championship. This spot in particular had been largely lobbied for by fans in the UK, who have been desperate for a team to cheer for whilst other cities have been announced. Now Rogue, which harbours popular investors such as Steve Aoki and Imagine Dragons, will be coming up with the perfect roster and branding to represent arguably one of the biggest cities in Call of Duty.<\/p>

“On behalf of the entire ReKTGlobal organisation, we are thrilled that we’ve landed the London team for Call of Duty,” said Amish Shah, founder of ReKTGlobal. “My co-founder, Dave Bialek, and I feel that some of the most enthusiastic esports fans are based in London and we are not only excited but welcome the challenge to represent the city, while gaining larger visibility and growing our brand within the UK.<\/p>

The Chicago spot has been purchased by NRG, which is owned by the co-owners of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. They also own the San Francisco Shock<\/a>, one of the Overwatch League’s<\/a> top teams.<\/p>

<\/p>

“NRG has loved Call of Duty and the competitive pro and amateur scene for a long time now,” NRG CEO, Andy Miller, said. “The formation of the new Call of Duty esports league provided the perfect opportunity for the org to jump in. The prospect of having Chicago written across our team’s chests was the icing on the cake. We hope to transfer our winning formula from the San Francisco Shock of the Overwatch League to the new Call of Duty esports league and our Chicago team.”<\/p>

<\/p>

Finally, the Seattle spot was purchased by the Aquilini Group and Enthusiast Gaming, which is partnered with Luminosity Gaming and owns the Overwatch League’s Vancouver Titans.<\/p>

<\/p>

Luminosity have had a roster in Call of Duty for the last few years and have become a top team in the scene, so it makes to see them continuing their work with CoD esports here.<\/p>
