TSM ultimately beat out 79 other teams, with the 80 best Apex Legends teams in the world taking to Krakow to take part in Apex’s first international major, who earned points through kills and placements much like in other battle royale esports such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite Battle Royale<\/a>.<\/p>

However, unlike most other BR’s, teams had to reach a certain points threshold (50, in this case) to be eligible to win, after which they would have to get a match win to win the tournament. By the eleventh and final round came by, there were eight other teams eligible to win the tournament.<\/p>

<\/p>

The team – consisting of Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen, Mac Kenzie “Albralelie” Beckwith and Jordan “Reps” Wolfe – are now celebrating their second major victory in the last month, having also won the EXP Invitational at X Games Minneapolis in early August.<\/p>

<\/p>

TSM were fighting tooth and nail with closest competitors Natus Vincere, who put up some incredible individual performances throughout the tournament to earn their second place medals, even looking like a strong contender to win the whole thing with players like Nikita “clawz” Marchinsky and Kirill “9impulse” Kostiv individually playing incredibly.<\/p>

<\/p>

TSM took home $105,000 as winners of the tournament, over 20% of the total $500,000 prize pool that was eventually shared between the top 20 teams. Na’vi managed to win $75,000, whilst third placed Wyvern won $60,000.<\/p>

<\/p>

The next major tournament will be Twitch Rivals, the Road to TwitchCon Showdown in San Diego at the end of September. The tournament will feature a $500,000 prize pool and six teams have already qualified: NRG, Sentinels, SUCCUBUS, Natus Vincere, Team xcudi and Team Gigz. TSM came third in their qualifying region in Q1, just short of the top two placement needed to qualify. They then came fourth in Q2, again barely missing the opportunity to qualify.<\/p>

It would be a shame not to see TSM at TwitchCon but it’s fair to say, with their wallets a little heavier, they might appreciate the weekend off.<\/strong><\/p>
