Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, one of the CS:GO legends, will no longer be a part of the G2 Esports CS:GO roster.<\/p>\n

This has been revealed via an announcement on Twitter, where G2 Esports shared a bigger picture of roster changes, including the decision to allow kennyS to “explore new opportunities”.<\/p>\n

As a part of these roster changes, ex-FaZe Clan star Nikola “NiKo” Kovač will now play a hybrid rifler\/AWP role for the team which he joined last year.<\/a><\/p>\n

Finally, the announcement also reveals that Audric “JaCkz” Jug will rejoin the team as an active player again, filling a Rifler role.<\/p>\n

G2 Esports’ coach Damien “maLeK” Marcel explains that the decision was not made easily, but ultimately they believe that this is the best outcome for everyone.<\/p>\n

“Kenny is a pillar withing G2 and a legend in the scene,” maLeK said. “Although bittersweet, we are confident these changes will bring back some great CS by G2 to the server.”<\/p>\n

Coach maLeK has no doubts that a new opportunity will allow Kenny to “remain at the top”, and also thinks that these changes will help the team to consolidate and adapt to the current meta, allowing them to have “a more open-minded approach”.<\/p>\n

G2 Esports’ owner Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez commented that “Kenny has carried G2 for the longest time” and also sees a bright future for him, saying that Kenny “can reach any heights he set his mind to”.<\/p>\n

Kenny shared his thought on Twitter as well, saying that he is thankful to his former team.<\/p>\n

Schrub has been a part of G2 Esports over the last 4 years, and while they have won several big titles in 2017, it seems that big results were simply missing over the last couple of years, with 2020 being particularly weak.<\/p>\n
