Last week we highlighted the perfect hattrick from Ronaldo against Caligari (left foot, right foot and a headed goal), and this week its a man at the other end of the pitch that takes the plaudits and a place in our predictions for team of the week 26.

Juventus faced off against Benevento, at home, with them desperately needed a win to keep their title hopes alive. Instead, goalkeeper, Lorenzo Montipò, put in an absolutely monster performance to keep Juventus shut out and help keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win for Filippo Inzaghi’s side.

Goalkeepers were coming out big across Europe. Atletico Madrid may have been dumped out of the Champions League mid-week but they are still top of LaLiga, and a lot of that has to do with Jan Oblak who saved a penalty to keep his sides slender 1-0 lead against. With 10 games to go, and just four points in it. That save could have a profound effect on who will be ending the season on top.

That doesn’t mean attackers weren’t at the racing this weekend, we started this week talking about perfect hattricks and we will end it as such as Robert Lewandowski scored three in just 40 mins to humiliate Stuttgart. Even more so when you consider that Alphonso Davis, Bayern’s left-back, was sent off after 12 minutes with a red card. Big oof.
