{"id":14202,"date":"2021-03-25T21:22:07","date_gmt":"2021-03-25T21:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/lpl-obscures-swoosh-logo-following-nike-s-statement-on-forced-labour-camps-in-uyghur"},"modified":"2024-07-19T07:30:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T07:30:17","slug":"lpl-obscures-swoosh-logo-following-nike-s-statement-on-forced-labour-camps-in-uyghur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/league-of-legends\/lpl-obscures-swoosh-logo-following-nike-s-statement-on-forced-labour-camps-in-uyghur","title":{"rendered":"LPL obscures &#8216;Swoosh&#8217; logo following Nike statement on forced labour camps in Uyghur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During live streams of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) matches this Thursday, it has been spotted that the Nike logo was blocked with what appears to be a black strip with LPL written on it.<\/p>\n<p>The matches in question were LGD Gaming vs Invictus Gaming and LNG Esports vs Rogue Warriors.<\/p>\n<p>This comes just a day after Nike&#8217;s statement on Wednesday, where the American corporation commented on allegations that they are using textiles from Uyghur Muslim internment camps in China.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/H5wm6yDIEi-NaUDDnbejOxtyHcdYW_PlaPjytAYh4PY\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL2xlYWd1ZV9vZl9sZWdlbm5kc18yMDIxL05pa2VfbG9nby9sb2dvX25pa2VfcmVtb3ZlZC5QTkc\" alt=\"LPL logo nike removed\" width=\"1013\" height=\"587\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">A black ribbon with &#8220;LPL&#8221; written on it was placed over Nike&#8217;s logo(Picture: TJ Sports)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the statement, Nike denies that any of its suppliers has any connection with the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) and says that they are &#8220;concerned about reports of forced labour&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our ongoing diligence has not found evidence of employment of Uyghurs, or other ethnic minorities from XUAR, elsewhere in our supply chain,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/purpose.nike.com\/statement-on-xinjiang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the statement reads.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The League of Legends Pro League (LPL) is owned and operated by TJ Sports, which has a close partnership with Nike as one of the League&#8217;s main sponsors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/d9X1RU4rdqPHv1JhqF1ASRNuWNgQX1h4OoAVAsZuo0E\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL2xlYWd1ZV9vZl9sZWdlbm5kc18yMDIxL05pa2VfbG9nby9scGxfbmlrZV9sb2dvX3JlbW92ZWQuUE5H\" alt=\"lpl nike logo removed\" width=\"1024\" height=\"620\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: TJ Sports)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>While this move to hide Nike&#8217;s logo from the LPL Spring Split Week 10 competition doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean that this partnership is now over, it is a clear indication that any act that goes against the Chinese government in any way can be considered problematic.
