Twelve of the best teams from around the world will set off for Reykjav&iacute;k, Iceland, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/league-of-legends\/leak-suggests-msi-2021-to-take-place-in-reykjavik\">host city<\/a> for what is set to be an epic battle to conquer the Summoner&#8217;s Rift and to rise as the new champions and taking the MSI crown from G2 who defeated Team Liquid back in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the time has come to review everything that awaits us at the MSI 2021 Mid-Season Invitational, from the teams to the schedule, format, prize pool and more.<\/p>\n<h3>MSI 2021 Mid-Season Invitational: The teams<\/h3>\n<p>The event will bring together the best teams from each of League of Legends&rsquo; regional leagues, with the champions of all 12 regions automatically qualifying.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/league-of-legends\/2021-mid-season-invitational-players-to-watcj\">MSI 2021: Five players to watch in Reykjav&iacute;k<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MSI 2021 Mid-Season Invitational teams:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Royal Never Give Up (China)<\/li>\n<li>MAD Lions (Europe)<\/li>\n<li>DWG Kia (Korea)<\/li>\n<li>Cloud9 (North America)<\/li>\n<li>PSG Talon (Southeast Asia)<\/li>\n<li>Unicorns of Love (CIS)<\/li>\n<li>Istanbul Wildcats (Turkey)<\/li>\n<li>Infinity Esports (Latin America)<\/li>\n<li>DenotatioN FocusMe (Japan)<\/li>\n<li>paiN Gaming (Brazil)<\/li>\n<li>Pentanet.gg (Oceania)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Due to national <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/league-of-legends\/vcs-unable-to-attend-msi-for-second-year-running\">travel restrictions related to COVID-19<\/a>, the team from Vietnam (VCS), GAM Esports, will unfortunately not be able to participate.<\/p>\n<h2>2021 Mid-Season Invitational: The format<\/h2>\n<p>Unlike past years, the MSI 2021 format will be very different, with the scoop that the Play-In Stage will no longer exist, but instead, all teams will start from the Group Stage.<\/p>\n<h3>Group Stage<\/h3>\n<p>The participating teams have been divided into three groups of four teams, where they will have to face each other in a double round-robin format, having a format similar to that of the Worlds Play-In Stage.<\/p>\n<p>After a random draw, the placement of the groups for this phase has been as follows:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/db-hjVkmW4uH-zZ7zzMdLTd7hJx8YRj4YKBWRommUi4\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9MZWFndWVfb2ZfTGVnZW5kcy9NU0lfMjAyMS9NU0lNaWQyMDIxZ3JvdXBzLmpwZz9fdD0xNjIwMjc3MTc3\" alt=\"MSI 2021 mid-season invitational how to watch schedule format teams prize pool\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" loading=\"lazy\"><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Riot Games)<\/span><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The best two teams in each group at the end of the round and after subsequent tie-breaks will qualify for the next phase. Due to one team not being able to participate, Group A, as you can see above, will only feature three teams.<\/p>\n<h3>Rumble Stage<\/h3>\n<p>Being the classic six-team phase of the MSI, here all the best teams of the Group Stage will face each other in a double round-robin format, where the best four teams will advance to the final phase.<\/p>\n<h3>Knockout Stage<\/h3>\n<p>Starting from the semifinals, this will have a single-elimination bracket in which the first place of the Rumble Stage will be able to choose their opponent from those classified in third and fourth place.<\/p>\n<p>Once done, the teams will play best-of-five matches, with the winners advancing to the finals for the MSI championship title.<\/p>\n<div class=\"cke_pagebreak\" style=\"page-break-after: always;\" title=\"Page Break\" contenteditable=\"false\" aria-label=\"Page Break\" data-cke-display-name=\"pagebreak\" data-cke-pagebreak=\"1\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<h3>2021 Mid-Season Invitational: Prize pool<\/h3>\n<p>As is customary at MSI, there will be a prize pool that will increase according to the profits that are collected from the sale of the Conqueror skins and other exclusive content released for the event, with a base amount of &#36;250,000 USD offered up by Riot Games.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/hK4ZNz8Z_3A54YbYDPJ_5Dk51MVYcwU7B77FJ286Xq4\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzL01TSV80X18xXy5qcGc\" alt=\"MSI 2021 mid-season invitational how to watch schedule format teams prize pool\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">Conqueror Nautilus. The Group Stage will run from 6th to 11th May, followed by the Rumble Stage on 14th to 18th May.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, the Knockout Stage will take place from 21st to 23rd May.
