E3 will return as a digital event<\/a> on 12-15th June, although there’s some notable omissions from the line-up so far.<\/p>\n The gaming showcase typically staged in Los Angeles was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with many developers instead staging their own online presentations throughout the year. <\/p>\n E3 returns this year however in the form of a digital event, comprised of live press conferences and a four-day long video stream of the latest games.<\/p>\n Companies confirmed to be involved are Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Koch Media and Warner Bros. Games. The most notable omissions are EA and Sony, with the latter having skipped E3 for the past two years<\/a>.<\/p>\n While they could be confirmed to participate down the line, Sony has generally drifted into staging their own events over recent years, mostly through State of Play presentations. <\/p>\n Interestingly, this year’s E3 will have competition from Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest in June, which will also feature new game reveals from developers. <\/p>\n It’s expected E3 will return as an in-person event next year. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" E3 will return as a digital event on 12-15th June, although there’s some notable omissions from the line-up so far.
