If we count Valorant<\/a>‘s open beta, the game is more than a year old at this point, or 10 months if we count since the official release in June 2020.<\/p>\n

Still, the game has many issues that shouldn’t be happening at this stage of its development, but unfortunately, some of the persistent problems are constantly coming back.<\/p>\n

One of the recurring problems that are plaguing the game is occasional drastic frame rate drops. This often happens after some big patches, which means some changes are causing it. Hopefully, Riot developers will be able to find the root of this issue and fix it, but until then, we are left on our own to fix these problems.<\/p>\n

If you are one of those players who are having problems with Valorant’s frame rate drops post 2.06 update<\/a>, here’s what you should do in order to fix it.<\/p>\n

How to fix FPS drops in Valorant<\/h3>\n

Although Valorant is not a resource-intensive game and it is designed so that everyone with an average PC can play it, players have been having issues with frame drops since the game’s release.<\/p>\n

And while there is no definitive solution that will make this problem disappear permanently, Reddit user mackfan<\/a> offered one of the currently best solutions.<\/p>\n

According to him, to check or fix the issue with FPS drops, you should try these steps:<\/p>\n

    Launch Valorant, and minimize the game<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Open your Task Manager (by right-clicking the Windows Task Bar and clicking “Task Manager”)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Click “More Details”, and select the “Processes” tab<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Right-click Valorant, and select “Go to details”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Right-click “VALORANT-WIN64-Shipping.exe”, and select “Set Affinity”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    A window will pop up showing which CPU threads are currently enabled for Valorant. If they’re all checked, this fix probably doesn’t apply to you. If there’s only a couple checked off and everything else is unchecked? Check the box “<All Processors>”, and click OK<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    Repeat step #5 and 6, but on “VALORANT.exe”<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    A number of players are reporting that this fix is working perfectly, so we definitely recommend you to try if your game is having FPS drops or is stuttering issues.<\/p>\n
