Gentle Mates<\/strong> is set to leave Counter-Strike 2, with the French organisation currently in negotiations to sell its roster to another team – bringing a remarkably short stint in competitive CS2 to a close.<\/p>\n

The org only entered the scene in mid-2025, picking up the all-Spanish Iberian Soul<\/strong> lineup that had been left without a home after KOI<\/strong> departed CS2 earlier in the year. That squad – built around players including Alejandro “mopoz” Fern\u00e1ndez-Quejo<\/strong>, David “dav1g” Granado<\/strong>, Pere “sausol” Solsona<\/strong>, and Alejandro “alex” Masanet<\/strong> – had already earned a strong tier-two reputation with wins at events like EPIC.LAN 45 and Roman Imperium Cup I before joining the M8 banner.<\/p>\n

Under Gentle Mates, the roster sat around 25th globally and took maps or series off established names including G2, NIP, and BIG, establishing themselves firmly at the tier-two and low tier-one bubble. They also added titles at Exort The Proving Grounds Season 2 and Galaxy Battle 2025 Phase 3 to their trophy cabinet, showing genuine upward momentum before this exit was confirmed.<\/p>\n

The departure fits a wider pattern that’s been playing out across the CS2 competitive scene<\/a>, where tier-two org support has remained volatile and organisations have cycled in and out of the game at pace. Gentle Mates was co-founded in 2023 by French creators Gotaga<\/strong>, Squeezie<\/strong>, and Brawks<\/strong>, and their CS2 project never quite found its footing at org level despite the roster’s performances on server.<\/p>\n
