Apart from having a storyline relevance, they also help mobilize the players in the matches and make for a great tool to escape tricky situations.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, rifts have been scattered all around the island, and there have been portable rift items for the players to carry in their inventory. However, in Season 6, rifts are sold by NPCs in exchange for 245 gold bars.
