The turning point for many players in Outriders<\/a> is when crafting becomes available and mods are able to be accessed. <\/p>\n

When Doctor Zahedi is rescued and turned into your own personal crafting station<\/a>, your gear choices in Outriders truly opens up. You’re able to improve weapons and armour, increase attributes and even turn a gun into something entirely different. However, perhaps the most important aspect of the crafting system is the ability to add mods. <\/p>\n

Mods are what make your weapon or armour piece unique and often match your overall play style and class<\/a>. There’s some confusion as to how to actually acquire mods in the first place though, so we’re here to clear up any confusion. <\/p>\n

Acquiring and adding mods in Outriders<\/h2>\n

The only ways to acquire a mod in Outriders is to either find a weapon or armour piece with a mod attached or to dismantle a weapon or armour piece with a mod. By dismantling the gear, you immediately unlock that mod in the crafting menu. <\/p>\n

So if you dismantle a weapon with Clip Combustion on it, you can then access it in the crafting menu and add it to another weapon. In order to add the mod, you need to go to Doctor Zahedi, select the gear you want to mod, click on the “Mods” tab and then pick which mod you want to use. When you have one picked, click the “Mod slot 1” button underneath the weapon and it’ll be attached. <\/p>\n

In terms of the mods themselves, there are three different tiers, with each ascending tier offering more advanced mods. You can see the number of mods you have in each tier on the “Mod Gear” screen, as seen below. <\/p>\n

In addition to different tiers of mods, the more advanced the gear, the more mods you can add. With blue gear, you can only add one mod. However, with purple gear and above, you can add two mods. Although, Legendary gear<\/a> comes pre-equipped with mods, as you can see in our previous article. <\/p>\n
