A 2027 release had been widely anticipated after Santa Monica confirmed the game would ship on disc – a decision that carries extra weight given Sony’s announcement that it will stop producing PlayStation discs from 2028. Laufey – also known as Faye – takes centre stage here rather than Kratos, and early reaction has been split because of it.
