{"id":15152,"date":"2021-04-16T11:57:11","date_gmt":"2021-04-16T11:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/overwatch-league-how-would-pro-players-balance-the-game"},"modified":"2024-07-19T06:56:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-19T06:56:17","slug":"overwatch-league-how-would-pro-players-balance-the-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/overwatch\/overwatch-league-how-would-pro-players-balance-the-game","title":{"rendered":"Overwatch League: How would pro players balance the game?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/overwatch\">Overwatch<\/a>, Blizzard&#8217;s now-iconic FPS, has proven to be quite the beast to tame when it comes to balancing changes and developing heroes throughout the five years of its existence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More often than not, big meta shifts aren&#8217;t well received and player feedback usually has a huge impact on what the dev team eventually sets out to fix or retool.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps more vocal than anyone else are those that make a living out of playing Overwatch at the highest level, with Blizzard recently deciding to invite content creators and pros alike to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=w725R-RRVSE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Experimental Card Panel<\/a>, debating and voting in favour or against balancing decisions that would make it into a special version of the Experimental Card that would be used for a community tournament.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/overwatch\/overwatch-league-how-covid-19-pushed-jake-back-to-pro-play\">Overwatch League: How COVID-19 pushed Jake back to pro play<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During a press conference prior to the start of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ginx.tv\/en\/overwatch\/overwatch-league-2021-schedule-format-prize-pools-and-more\">Overwatch League 2021<\/a>, one of the members of said panel, Indy &#8220;Space&#8221; Halpern, alongside fellow pros Matthew &#8220;Super&#8221; DeLisi, and Jake Lyon, shared what they&#8217;d love to see tweaked in the near future.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/dNl4QmRsKvtQm4-zQDk4Q64FGF_2kMVXE_AGlmYw-wM\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9PdmVyd2F0Y2gvc3BhY2UuanBn\" alt=\"space overwatch league\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Overwatch League)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My biggest change I liked the most was the Reinhardt one,&#8221; Space, LA Gladiators&#8217; flex tank, explained about an approved suggestion of his during the Experimental Panel that saw the main tank&#8217;s ultimate, Eartshatter, receive a buff <a href=\"https:\/\/overwatchleague.com\/en-us\/news\/experimental-card-tournament-hero-changes-how-to-play-and-where-to-watch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">based on enemy proximity<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I got kinda creative with it, the closer you are the longer the stun, the farther away it&#8217;s a shorter stun, something like that in the game would be pretty dope.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A main tank himself, two-time OWL champion Super decided to target an &#8220;annoying&#8221; DPS hero. &#8220;I feel like I complain about a lot of things, my biggest one right now is Junkrat&#8217;s concussive mines.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-cf.ginx.tv\/imgcdn\/VmlOBidz8McScLLX9R0jIILnAXGgPBbkC_ISnbGpkXM\/rs:fill:0:0:1\/g:ce\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ2lueC50di91cGxvYWRzMi9PdmVyd2F0Y2gvanVua3JhdC5qcGc\" alt=\"junkrat overwatch league\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/><span style=\"font-size: 8pt;\">(Picture: Activision Blizzard Entertainment)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The reasoning behind it, Super says, has to do with the severe amount of crowd control (CC) and displacing abilities in the game, with the projectile damage-dealer feeling a little overtuned.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I hate those things, they knock you all over the place.
